Becoming a Win-Win Teacher
Much of the information reported in Becoming a Win-Win Teacher came from a variety of sources through a survey I circulated in 2008 and early 2009. The questions on the survey included the following:
I am working on a new book for beginning teachers, tentatively entitled Becoming a Win-Win Teacher. I'd like to pick your brain, so if you wouldn't mind, think about and respond to the following the following:
* If you had it to do over again, would you still go into teaching? Why or why not?
* Finish the following sentence, “I really wish somebody had told me (this about teaching)...”
* In what areas were you best prepared? Least?
* How does teaching get easier after the first year?
* My special tip (or any comments) for beginning teachers:
* For ADMINISTRATORS: What do you look for in interviewing or hiring beginning teachers?
*Please specify your title or position.
