Heart-shaped Box, Dragon Pendant, and Leaf Pendant

pmc charms

Jan. 2006: I made this box around a heart-shaped cookie cutter. It was my first attempt at a 3D construction (as opposed to just cutting and texturing and layering clay, which I did on the lid) and it was my first experience with a not-very-easy-to-use extruder (for the gold “braid”). This was inspired by a photo in a book. I will post the credit as soon as I find it again.

pmc pendant and bead

January 2006: This was my first experiment with creating a mold from a rubber stamp and then pressing the bronze clay into the mold. I added background layers and highlighted parts with black Pearlex, which gave the piece the look of embossed leather.

April, 2007: I got this red shell and over-blouse and needed something to accessorize it. I used a piece of lace to create the texture on the black layer and used a gloss finish on the red. (I think some texture might have worked better instead of the gloss.) The gold leaf was from a rubber mold.
