About Linda Sorenson
At age 10, Linda wrote her first books, The Mischievous Little
Goat and The Polka-Dot Cow, on yellow newsprint, folded
over, and illustrated with crayons. She’s been writing ever
since—for business, education, entertainment, and just for
fun. (See full publication list in resume.)
Linda has been as a writer, editor, publisher, speaker, performer,
global event planner, photographer, publicist, camp/retreat leader,
and dreamer of unique ways to make a difference. She has led action-packed
workshops and camps on creativity, nature, wellness, faith, and
global awareness. She brings zest, humor, vivid stories, and down-to-earth
fun to all she offers.
A life-long curiosity about the world links Linda with kindred
spirits from many lands. Global projects, including Peace Child
and NOW have allowed her to work with talented artists and entertainers
from many countries—fueling her passion to ignite, delight,
and unite.
Serendipity often dropped Linda into history’s lap:
- The hope of glasnost was experienced first-hand in Moscow, Kiev,
St. Petersburg, and Tbilisi with Peace Child pals and the Stas
Namin Band. Glimpses from a train window of fairy tale wooden
dachas in glistening moonlit snow linger in her memory today.
- She witnessed the Berlin Wall opening -- watching in awe as
a young German furiously chiseled off pieces, despite a bloodied
thumb. A colorful slice flew into her hands and graces her desk
as a testament to the power of persistence!
- Linda and two friends were rescued by a family from Kosovo when
their Vienna-bound train suddenly halted in a Croatian field on
May Day. Adem, the Dylan-loving son guided them into Italy, and
later wrote Linda postcards from pre-war Sarajevo, inviting her
to join him at their Winter Olympics.
Linda revels in natural majesties—Minnesota’s North
Shore and Canadian Rockies to Europe’s compact beauty. Working
at a Glacier National Park area lodge brought her up close and personal
with mountain goats, elk, rams, and even a grizzly on the mountain
trails.
Her friendship with the late, revered Montana wildlife photographer
Danny On sealed the flatlander’s love of the high country
forever, and leads her to advocate artfully linking people to the
planet’s precious places and rich cultures.
Linda lives in White Bear Lake, MN, a Twin Cities suburb, the front
yard hosting on-going potlucks for deer, wild turkeys, and cardinals.
Surrounded by family and critter pals Murphy and Baxter, she’s
a loving aunt to Ryan (king of “lily-pad-hat” stories)
and Kelly.
Linda is always keen to help others dream big, take creative risks,
and also reach out warm hands in loving service as they follow cherished
dreams.
