We’ve had some articles, excerpts and handouts for parents (and anyone who works with parents) translated into Spanish. Lots of new materials in English as well, including a funny parody of NCLB: The Football Version.

New Web Site

I’ve set up a Welcome page for a dedicated Web site for our new book. I’m working on site architecture and graphics, so there’s not much there, but it’s a start.

New Site Design

A new, warmer look that feels a lot more like the work we do! More graphics, lots of new links, and improved navigation, accessibility and layout.

New Fonts

Research suggests that sans-serif fonts are easier to read on screen. Additionally, feedback on my old site indicated that the serif fonts were a little stuffy, so my fonts-of-choice are sans serif fonts for much of the text on the site. Nonetheless, text-intensive pages (like articles and handouts) use dark serif-fonts on a white background, partly for easier printing.

New Layout

Reorganized and more sharply focused—in sections to help you find just what you’re looking for. Separate sections for various grade levels, as well as administrators, counselors, parents, the media, and more!

New Tech Features

For anyone who might be interested, this new site uses frames, image maps, CSS and a number of other features I didn’t know about when I built the last site. I also switched from GoLive to Dreamweaver—big learning curve! The site was developed on a Mac G4 tower and a G3 Powerbook.

New Focus for our Bookstore

After distributing resources for 50 publishers since 1985, we have decided to simply carry materials I have authored or developed. For the time being, our bookstore will include the few titles remaining in our inventory for sale at a significantly discounted “garage-sale” price.

New Products

While we’re phasing out our old catalogue items, I’ve been busy developing a bunch of new products, including a brand new audio CD set and video series for parents. In the coming days, check in our bookstore for an audio CD set for counselors, a “Positively Positive” CD with resources for educators, and a number of books and resources available electronically. UPDATE: Dr. Bluestein’s Complete Book of Handouts is now available as a download you can order.
